Accredited service provider (ASP)
Validates each e-invoice, exchanges it with your customer's ASP and reports tax data to the Federal Tax Authority. You appoint one from the list the Ministry publishes.
UAE e-invoicing is the Ministry of Finance's move from PDF and paper invoices to structured electronic invoices in the PINT AE format, exchanged through accredited service providers (ASPs), with tax data reported to the Federal Tax Authority. It is phased in by business size; see mof.gov.ae for dates. This guide explains what fit-out and contracting firms should prepare.

The UAE is moving to mandatory e-invoicing through accredited service providers in phases. Check the current timeline on mof.gov.ae. This guide is general information, not tax or legal advice; confirm your position with your tax agent.
If your firm emails a PDF invoice today, that changes. Under e-invoicing, each invoice becomes structured data in a set format, PINT AE, part of the Peppol International (PINT) specifications. Your ASP validates it and sends it to your customer's ASP. Your ASP reports tax data to the Federal Tax Authority, and so does your customer's ASP once it has validated the invoice. The Ministry calls this the five-corner model. Your accounting software produces the invoice data; your ASP validates and exchanges it.

The Ministry of Finance is bringing in e-invoicing in phases: larger businesses first, then smaller businesses, with government entities on their own timeline. Each phase has a deadline to appoint an ASP and a later date to go live. A pilot and voluntary adoption come before the mandatory phases, and business-to-consumer transactions stay outside the system for now. The timeline has changed before, so check the current dates on mof.gov.ae and ask your tax agent which phase applies to you.

The Ministry of Finance phases e-invoicing in by business size: larger businesses first, then smaller businesses, with government entities on their own timeline. PINT AE is the UAE's e-invoice data format, part of the Peppol International (PINT) specifications. It sets which fields each invoice must carry and how they are structured, so that ASPs can validate and exchange invoices. Check the current specification version on mof.gov.ae. Your accounting software or ERP has to produce invoice data in this format for your ASP.
Yes, if your business is in scope. Under the Ministry of Finance's e-invoicing rules, the business issuing and the business receiving an e-invoice each meet their duties through an accredited service provider from the Ministry's list. The ASP validates and exchanges your e-invoices and reports tax data to the Federal Tax Authority. BiltIQ is not an ASP. Business OS, our AI ERP, works with the ASP you appoint, and its PINT AE support is targeted for Mar 2027.
Decide early how each progress bill, retention release and variation order becomes an invoice or a credit note, and keep numbering consistent across projects. The rule for each case comes from the Ministry's guidance and your tax agent, not from a software vendor. Our checklist lists these decisions so you can settle them well before your go-live date.
